Role Overview:
The Commissioning & Field Service Engineer will be responsible for commissioning cargo mobile systems and traveling to sites as needed to commission cargo fixed systems. IT Support jobs in Saudi Arabia, This role involves installing PLC code and software programs, ensuring systems are configured per Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and providing on-site service, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment and systems. The engineer will also serve as a liaison between the company and customers on technical matters for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and modify PLC code to meet customer requirements.
- Test and validate all safety systems.
- Program relevant sensors for system functionality.
- Install appropriate software versions and ensure full functionality.
- Assist in commissioning external suppliers’ equipment and confirm integration.
- Establish safe exclusion zones during equipment testing.
- Verify system performance against customer requirements.
- Support customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to resolve quality issues.
- Work with suppliers to address defects found during commissioning.
Field Service Engineer Duties:
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on cargo systems (CVI).
- Conduct general maintenance, fitting, troubleshooting, and fault finding on CVI systems and subsystems.
- Support Mercedes vehicle service needs, including oil and lubricant changes, and filter replacements.
- Organize scheduled maintenance and repairs of cargo systems (M60 & P60).
- Provide oral and written responses to technical requests from site operations, site engineers, and customer representatives.
- Offer deect liability or post-acceptance support for CVI equipment.
- Complete technical documentation, including service reports and engineering change requests, and input service data into a functional database.
- Ensure all issued equipment, including vehicles, spares, consumables, tools, and test equipment, are maintained in a safe and suitable condition.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced product development environment.
- Experience in design for manufacture, with a background in a production environment, is highly desirable.
- Possess energy, drive, and a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the year overseas to commission products on-site and support customer SATs.
- Electrical and mechanical experience.
