Job Overview:
SRT Marine Systems is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Kuwait. The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems critical to our maritime tracking and surveillance services. This role requires a highly skilled and adaptable engineer capable of troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining IT systems to ensure high system availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations.
- Manage and support the installation and configuration of AIS and related maritime systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
- Perform regular backups and data recovery procedures to ensure system reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect systems from external and internal threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of maritime systems and network services.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Manage system updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain the security and functionality of IT systems.
- Ensure all IT systems comply with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Document technical procedures and system configurations to maintain system knowledge and provide training to staff as needed.
- Participate in IT projects, including the deployment of new systems and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as an IT Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and backup systems.
- Familiarity with maritime technologies, such as AIS or VMS, is a plus.
- Experience with network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall management.
- Proficiency in system administration (Windows and Linux environments).
- Knowledge of network security best practices and troubleshooting methods.
- Experience with cloud computing and virtual environments is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
