Role Overview:

As a Customer Assistant at Morrisons, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive outstanding service every time they visit. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all customers.
  • Assist customers with their queries, helping them find products and offering knowledgeable advice.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Checkout Operations:

  • Operate the cash register efficiently, processing transactions accurately.
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and vouchers with care and precision.
  • Ensure a fast and efficient checkout process to minimize customer wait times.

Merchandising and Stock Management:

  • Restock shelves and displays with new inventory, ensuring products are well-presented and labeled correctly.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies to the management.
  • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the stockroom.

Store Maintenance:

  • Keep the store clean and tidy, including aisles, checkout areas, and common areas.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Assist with the setup of promotional displays and seasonal decorations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team members to achieve store objectives and sales targets.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about company policies and product knowledge.
  • Support colleagues in other departments as needed, including assisting with deliveries and stockroom tasks.

Sales and Promotions:

  • Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and new products to enhance customer experience.
  • Assist with in-store events and activities aimed at increasing customer engagement.
  • Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and suggestions for service improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
