Key Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Conceptualize and design original clothing and accessory collections, from initial sketches to final products.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, colors, and materials, and incorporate them into designs.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and create custom designs that reflect their brand and target audience.
- Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production teams.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate fabrics, patterns, and accessories for each design, ensuring quality and suitability.
- Prototype Development: Oversee the creation of prototypes, fitting sessions, and adjustments to ensure the final product meets design expectations.
- Production Oversight: Collaborate with production teams to ensure that designs are accurately brought to life, maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and areas for design innovation.
- Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable practices and materials into the design process, promoting eco-friendly fashion solutions.
- Presentation: Prepare and present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating your vision and design rationale.
- Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fashion design, with a portfolio showcasing a range of successful designs.
Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
- Strong sketching and illustration skills.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, textiles, and fabric properties.
