Position Summary:

Dieture is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Food Safety Officer to join our team in Qatar. The Food Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining food safety standards and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), ISO 22000, and Qatar Food Safety Law. Stay updated on regulatory changes and requirements.
  • Food Safety Audits: Conduct regular audits and inspections of food production facilities, kitchens, storage areas, and distribution processes to assess compliance with food safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Hygiene and Sanitation: Implement and monitor hygiene and sanitation practices to prevent contamination and ensure the cleanliness of equipment, surfaces, and utensils. Develop and maintain sanitation schedules and procedures.
  • Quality Control: Establish quality control measures to monitor the quality and safety of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products. Conduct microbiological and chemical analyses as needed.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff on food safety practices, hygiene protocols, and proper handling procedures. Ensure all employees are knowledgeable about food safety requirements and protocols.
  • Incident Response: Develop and implement protocols for responding to food safety incidents, including foodborne illness outbreaks, contamination incidents, and product recalls. Coordinate with relevant authorities as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of food safety activities, including audits, inspections, training sessions, and incident reports. Ensure all documentation is organized, up to date, and accessible for audits and inspections.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation in food safety practices and procedures. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address deficiencies and enhance food safety performance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food safety management or a related field, preferably in the food industry or hospitality sector.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of food safety principles, regulations, and standards. Familiarity with HACCP principles, food microbiology, sanitation practices, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Certifications: Certification in food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is required. Additional certifications such as Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) or Registered Food Safety Auditor (RFSA) are advantageous.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate food safety requirements and procedures to staff at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify food safety risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in food safety documentation and record-keeping.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments to achieve food safety objectives.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, environmental health, or a related field. Additional training or coursework in food safety management is beneficial.
