Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support students in their daily learning activities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement.
- Provide classroom support by preparing teaching materials, setting up learning stations, and assisting with lesson delivery.
- Facilitate students’ participation in academic, social, and life skills activities both within the classroom and in the community.
- Assist in managing students’ behavior using appropriate strategies and techniques.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide holistic support to students.
- Monitor and document students’ progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Participate in training and professional development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level, Nitec, or Diploma in a related field (e.g., Early Childhood, Special Education, Psychology).
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Strong passion for working with children with diverse abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards learning and teaching.
- Willingness to undergo further training in special education methodologies.
