Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Civil Inspector to join our dynamic team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all civil construction activities comply with project specifications, standards, and codes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders to deliver high-quality construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Inspection: Conduct regular on-site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of civil construction works, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance. Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and construction activities. Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, deviations, and recommendations.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address construction issues, provide technical guidance, and ensure timely project delivery.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly and participate in safety meetings and trainings.
- Material Verification: Inspect and approve construction materials delivered to the site, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
- Testing and Commissioning: Witness and verify tests on materials and completed works, such as concrete strength tests, soil compaction, and structural integrity assessments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction inspection, preferably within the UAE.
- Certifications: Professional certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., International Code Council) are advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction materials, and industry standards. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspections and documentation, ensuring all aspects of construction meet the required standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues proactively and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to perform site inspections, which may involve standing for extended periods and navigating uneven terrain.
