Job Description:
Fortum is seeking a skilled and passionate Data Engineer to join our growing digital and analytics team in Finland. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure that enable clean, secure, and accessible data across Fortum’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines using cloud and big data technologies
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business units to ensure data needs are met
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data
- Integrate data from various internal and external sources into data lakes or warehouses
- Implement and maintain data quality and security standards
- Optimize data systems for scalability and performance
- Support the development of real-time analytics solutions and dashboards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data integration frameworks
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also considered)
- Hands-on experience with tools like Apache Spark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Snowflake
- Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and API integrations
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Fluent in English; Finnish is an advantage but not required
- Eligible for Finnish work and residence permit (visa sponsorship available)
