Job Overview:
SLS The Red Sea is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener Supervisor to lead our landscaping team in maintaining the resort’s exquisite gardens and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture and landscape management, with proven leadership skills to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the gardening team, including task assignment, performance evaluation, and training.
- Landscape Maintenance: Oversee the planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and general care of trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns to ensure healthy growth and visual excellence.
- Irrigation Management: Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage and optimal plant health.
- Pest and Disease Control: Identify and manage plant pests and diseases, implementing appropriate control measures in line with environmental guidelines.
- Equipment Oversight: Ensure all gardening tools and equipment are properly maintained, safely operated, and securely stored.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular training sessions and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the landscaping budget, including procurement of plants, materials, and equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate landscaping activities with resort events and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional gardening or landscaping, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of plant species suitable for the Saudi Arabian climate, along with expertise in sustainable landscaping practices.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a variety of horticultural equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading a diverse team.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
