Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Induction & Training: Conduct HSE orientation and awareness sessions for workers to ensure understanding and compliance with safety protocols.
- Implementation of HSE Plans: Understand and enforce HSE plans, welfare plans, emergency response procedures, and site-specific work instructions.
- Permit to Work (PTW) Systems: Oversee the implementation of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), including PTW, Work Method Statements (WMS), and risk assessments.
- Hazardous Materials Management: Monitor and enforce control measures for hazardous substances, including H2S.
- Site Inspections & Audits: Perform regular HSE inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation: Manage incident reporting and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline from an accredited institution.
- Certifications:
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- One-year diploma in Fire and Safety (preferred).
- Additional HSE certifications such as IOSH or Lead Auditor courses in ISO 45001/ISO 14001 are advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the construction or oil and gas industries.
- Proven track record of implementing HSE systems and achieving safety milestones on large-scale projects.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment:
- Project Sites: The role is based on-site at Galfar’s oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi, requiring hands-on involvement in daily operations.
- Work Schedule: Full-time position with potential for extended hours depending on project requirements.
