Responsibilities:

  2. Medication Review: Conduct medication reviews to assess the appropriateness, safety, and efficacy of prescribed medications, identifying any potential drug interactions or adverse effects.
  3. Patient Counseling: Offer comprehensive counseling to patients regarding their medications, including dosage, administration, potential side effects, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans.
  4. Medication Management: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient medication therapy and achieve positive health outcomes.
  5. Prescription Processing: Receive and process prescription orders, verifying their accuracy and legitimacy while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
  6. Medication Compounding: Prepare specialized medications, such as compounded medications, following strict guidelines to ensure quality and safety.
  7. Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels, place orders with suppliers, and manage inventory to prevent stockouts and ensure the availability of essential medications.
  8. Medication Safety: Promote medication safety practices in the pharmacy, including error prevention strategies and reporting adverse drug reactions.
  9. Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Stay updated with the latest pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards to ensure compliance and maintain the highest level of pharmacy practice.
  10. Health Promotion: Engage in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives, providing patients with valuable information on lifestyle modifications and wellness practices.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Licensing: Hold a Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in Canada.
