Job Description:
The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations and standards. The role involves conducting regular risk assessments, hazard identification, safety inspections, and implementing safety programs to prevent workplace accidents. The Safety Officer will also investigate accidents and unsafe conditions, develop and conduct safety training programs, and maintain accurate records of safety audits and incident reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections.
- Investigate accidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs.
- Implement and maintain emergency response plans.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Monitor adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities.
- Collaborate with management to improve workplace safety.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent safety certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience in conducting safety audits and compliance inspections.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for safety audits, training, or compliance checks.
