Safety Officer

Drawlines Consult WLL, a leading engineering and consulting firm in Qatar, is looking for a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to join our dynamic team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures across all company projects, including construction, engineering, and consultancy services. The role requires a deep understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors to enhance awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain and update safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident reports, and safety audits.
  • Prepare and present safety reports and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Ensure that all work activities comply with local and international health and safety regulations, including Qatar’s occupational safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety drills to reinforce a culture of safety and preparedness.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by promoting proactive safety measures and encouraging open communication regarding safety concerns and suggestions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) recognized in Qatar.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the construction or engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and educate others on safety matters.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical ability to conduct on-site inspections and audits in various environments.
