The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures across all company projects, including construction, engineering, and consultancy services. The role requires a deep understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and compliance, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors to enhance awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain and update safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, incident reports, and safety audits.
- Prepare and present safety reports and performance metrics to senior management.
- Ensure that all work activities comply with local and international health and safety regulations, including Qatar’s occupational safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety drills to reinforce a culture of safety and preparedness.
- Stay updated on the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Foster a positive safety culture by promoting proactive safety measures and encouraging open communication regarding safety concerns and suggestions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) recognized in Qatar.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the construction or engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and educate others on safety matters.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to conduct on-site inspections and audits in various environments.
