Key Responsibilities:
- Order Picking: Accurately pick and pack customer orders using advanced warehouse technology and automation systems. Ensure all items are correctly selected and packed to maintain high quality standards.
- Stock Management: Assist in the receipt, storage, and management of stock. Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure all stock is correctly labeled and stored.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on products and packaging to ensure they meet Ocado’s high standards. Report any discrepancies or issues to the relevant supervisor.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse machinery and equipment, including forklifts and pallet trucks, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety of all staff.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and ensure the efficient running of the warehouse. Communicate effectively to resolve any issues or concerns.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Communication: Effective communication skills with the ability to work well within a team. Proficiency in English is required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and workload.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using technology and automation systems in a warehouse setting. Basic computer skills are an advantage.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed.
