The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of welding techniques and safety procedures, and will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components according to project specifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Welding Operations: Utilize various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welding to assemble and fabricate metal structures, pipes, and components.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Analyze and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate welding and fabrication according to project requirements.
- Inspect Welds: Conduct quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.
- Prepare Materials: Cut, shape, and prepare metal materials before welding, ensuring all materials are appropriately aligned and secured.
- Maintenance of Equipment: Regularly maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate protective gear and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and construction team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential issues during the welding process and develop solutions to ensure project continuity and quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of welding experience in a construction or contracting environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or certification in welding is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques; strong understanding of welding safety practices; ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in welding to ensure high-quality work.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
