The Sushi Manufacturer will be in charge of preparing high-quality sushi and various other Japanese food things in conformity with well established recipes and requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and specifications.
- Ingredient Selection: Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation, including fish, rice, vegetables, and condiments.
- Knife Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in knife techniques for slicing, dicing, and garnishing ingredients with precision and consistency.
- Presentation: Plate and present sushi dishes attractively, paying attention to detail and aesthetics.
- Quality Control: Monitor food quality and freshness throughout the preparation process, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting stocktakes, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation guidelines and kitchen safety protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a Sushi Maker or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Skills: Excellent knife skills and proficiency in sushi preparation techniques. Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and ingredients.
- Creativity: Ability to create visually appealing and innovative sushi presentations.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently under pressure. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Japanese, is an advantage.
- Visa: Willingness to relocate to Dubai, UAE, with visa sponsorship provided by Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
