As an Accountant at Hourani Foods and Nutrition LLC in Dubai, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and expenses.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, collaborating with department heads and senior management to develop realistic and achievable financial goals.
- Monitor and evaluate internal controls and financial procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, identifying and addressing any deficiencies or areas of risk.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT returns, income tax returns, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with external audits, providing support and documentation as needed, and implementing audit recommendations to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information and sensitive data, adhering to ethical standards and professional conduct.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and ensure ongoing compliance and adherence to industry norms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial management roles, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Valid work authorization for employment in Dubai.
