Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Fashion Designer to join our dynamic design team. The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the Head Fashion Designer in the development and execution of our collections, from initial concept to final production. This role requires a passion for fashion, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design Support: Assist the Head Fashion Designer in developing new designs and concepts for collections. Create sketches, mood boards, and digital presentations to communicate design ideas.
- Pattern Making and Sewing: Assist in the creation of patterns and prototypes. Perform sewing and alterations as needed to develop sample garments.
- Fabric Selection: Source and select fabrics, trims, and accessories that align with the design concept and quality standards. Maintain an organized inventory of materials.
- Research: Conduct research on fashion trends, market demands, and competitor offerings. Provide insights and recommendations to inform design decisions.
- Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for each design. Ensure accuracy and clarity to guide the production process.
- Sample Coordination: Coordinate the production of sample garments. Work closely with the production team to ensure samples meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Fittings and Adjustments: Assist in fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure the perfect fit and finish of garments. Document changes and update technical specifications accordingly.
- Administrative Support: Maintain design records, manage design schedules, and assist with administrative tasks related to the design department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fashion design or a related role. Experience in high-end fashion or tailoring is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD. Strong sewing, pattern-making, and garment construction skills.
- Personal Attributes: Creative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail.
