Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence. Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to farm workers, overseeing daily tasks and activities.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources.
  • Train and mentor farm workers to maintain high standards of performance and productivity.

Farm Operations:

  • Monitor and manage all aspects of mushroom cultivation, including substrate preparation, spawning, cropping, and harvesting.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement measures to optimize crop yields, quality, and efficiency.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct regular inspections of crops and growing environments to assess health, growth, and quality.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain optimal growing conditions.
  • Enforce strict hygiene and sanitation practices to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including substrate, spawn, and other materials.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Monitor inventory usage and implement strategies to minimize waste and reduce costs.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a culture of safety among farm workers, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including food safety, environmental, and labor laws.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural production, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of mushroom cultivation techniques and best practices.
  • Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery.
  • Education: Diploma or degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
