Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Greenhouse Crop Workers to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Crop Cultivation:
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and spacing of crops according to established procedures.
- Monitor and maintain optimal growing conditions, including temperature, humidity, and irrigation.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop inputs as directed by supervisors.
Crop Maintenance:
- Monitor plant health and growth, identifying and addressing any issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Prune, trellis, and train plants to promote healthy growth and maximize yield.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of greenhouse facilities and equipment.
Harvesting:
- Harvest crops at the peak of ripeness, ensuring careful handling to minimize damage.
- Sort, grade, and pack harvested produce according to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of harvest yields and production activities.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of crops to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Ensure all products meet food safety and regulatory requirements before packaging and distribution.
- Report any quality issues or deviations from standards to supervisors.
General Farm Duties:
- Assist with general farm maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Operate and maintain greenhouse equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in greenhouse farming or agriculture is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor tasks in various conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
