About the Role:
As an IT Data Cabling Technician at ORO24 DEVELOPMENTS LLC, you will play a pivotal role in the deployment and maintenance of structured cabling systems for our residential and commercial properties. Key Responsibilities:
- Cabling Installation: Installing, terminating, and testing copper and fiber optic cables according to industry standards and project specifications.
- Infrastructure Design: Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to design structured cabling layouts that meet the requirements of modern IT systems and support future expansion.
- Testing and Certification: Conducting comprehensive testing and certification of cabling systems using specialized equipment to ensure compliance with performance standards and reliability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues related to cabling infrastructure, including connectivity problems, signal degradation, and cable faults, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of cable installations, labeling schemes, and test results to facilitate troubleshooting, maintenance, and future upgrades.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure the integrity and safety of cabling installations, including compliance with building codes and safety standards.
- Client Support: Providing technical support to tenants and clients regarding network connectivity and cabling infrastructure, addressing their inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data cabling installation and maintenance, preferably in a commercial or residential construction environment.
- Proficiency in installing and terminating copper and fiber optic cables, including Cat 5e, Cat 6, and multimode/single-mode fiber.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for structured cabling, such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC standards.
- Experience with cable testing and certification tools, such as cable testers, OTDRs, and certification testers (e.g., Fluke Networks).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites within the United Arab Emirates.
