Job Description:
As a Production Technician at BD’s Tuas Plant in Singapore, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing team, responsible for operating and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient and safe operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Machine Operation: Operate machines to meet production output and other metrics such as quality and waste management.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, servicing, and replacing machine parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine and equipment failures to meet production targets and maintain safety and quality standards.
- Product/Machine Changeover: Conduct tool and die changes and machine setups during product or machine changeovers.
- Continuous Improvement: Initiate and implement machine enhancements and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Documentation: Write Standard Work Instructions (SWI) or Procedures for assigned operations or processes.
- Training: Assist in training and coaching new technicians on machine operations and adjustments.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace by observing company rules and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO14001 Environmental standards.
Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device production.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with GMP and ISO14001 Environmental standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
