We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Laundry Assistant to join our team at Wemyss Lodge. Key Responsibilities:
- Laundry Management: Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry items, including clothing, bedding, towels, and linens, according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Stain Removal: Identify and treat stains on fabrics using appropriate cleaning products and techniques to ensure the removal of stains and maintain the quality of garments.
- Linen Inventory: Maintain accurate records of linen inventory levels, including tracking usage, replenishing supplies, and organizing storage areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines, to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Quality Control: Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, freshness, and proper folding. Replace damaged or worn-out items as needed to maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Sanitization: Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols to prevent the spread of infection and ensure the safety of residents and staff.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of laundry activities, including inventory counts, laundry cycles, and maintenance logs, for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members, including housekeeping, care assistants, and management, to ensure the smooth operation of laundry services and meet the needs of residents.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous assistance to residents and their families regarding laundry services and requests. Respond promptly to any concerns or special requests.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in laundry operations or housekeeping is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
