Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure their comfort and well-being.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to the nursing staff, ensuring timely intervention and support.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Meal Assistance: Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, promoting healthy nutrition and hydration.
- Medication Administration: Support residents with their medication routines under the guidance of nursing staff.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring residents’ rooms are tidy and comfortable.
- Documentation: Accurately document care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions in their care plans.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other caregivers, nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in caregiving or aged care is preferred but not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided.
- Certification: A relevant caregiving certification or qualification is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
- Attitude: A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for older adults.
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
