Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and side dishes, following traditional recipes and cooking techniques.
  • Menu Development: Assist in developing and updating the menu by introducing new dishes and improving existing recipes. Ensure that all dishes meet the high standards of taste and presentation expected by our customers.
  • Ingredient Management: Manage inventory and ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients. Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of fresh produce and other necessary items.
  • Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of dishes from preparation to presentation. Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers when necessary to understand their preferences and gather feedback on dishes. Strive to exceed customer expectations with every meal served.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff as needed.
  • Cost Management: Assist in managing food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring efficient use of ingredients. Monitor portion control and help in pricing menu items accurately.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Chinese Cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Expertise in Chinese cuisine is essential.
  • Culinary Skills: Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes. Ability to prepare a wide range of traditional and contemporary Chinese dishes.
  • Education: Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are a plus but not required. Practical experience and demonstrated cooking skills are highly valued.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with a focus on consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Communication: Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a team and interact with customers when needed.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to adapt to changing menu items and customer preferences.
