Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders, to perform various tasks such as excavation, earthmoving, grading, and material handling.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while operating heavy equipment. Conduct pre-operation inspections, maintain equipment in good working condition, and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Precision and Accuracy: Perform tasks with precision and accuracy, following project specifications and instructions from supervisors. Maintain proper grading and leveling to achieve desired results.
- Efficiency: Work efficiently to complete tasks within deadlines and budget constraints. Optimize machine performance and minimize downtime by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to ensure smooth operation and timely completion of projects. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks and address any concerns.
- Quality Control: Monitor work quality and ensure that finished products meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, equipment maintenance records, and job site reports. Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Heavy Machine Operator, with a minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in construction or civil engineering projects.
- Certification: Valid heavy machinery operator certification or license is required. Additional certifications for specific types of equipment (e.g., excavator, bulldozer) are preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders. Strong understanding of equipment capabilities, controls, and safety protocols.
- Safety Consciousness: Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures. Knowledge of safe operating practices and procedures for heavy machinery.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical condition with the ability to perform manual labor and operate heavy equipment for extended periods. Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and precision in performing tasks. Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain proper grading and leveling.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders.
