Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a commitment to safe and efficient driving practices. As a Delivery Driver at The WoodSource, you will be responsible for transporting lumber and building materials to our customers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that orders are delivered accurately and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Operations:

  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle, such as a truck or van, to transport lumber and building materials to customer locations.
  • Load and unload materials onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring that they are securely strapped and protected from damage during transport.
  • Follow designated delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Verify delivery instructions and addresses before departure to minimize delivery errors.

Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly and courteous service to customers upon delivery, ensuring that all deliveries are made with professionalism and integrity.
  • Assist customers with unloading materials and deliver them to the designated location on the property.
  • Answer any questions or inquiries from customers regarding their delivery or products.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the delivery vehicle.
  • Follow company safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe handling and transport of materials.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure that the delivery vehicle is in proper working condition.

Inventory Management:

  • Assist with inventory management by verifying delivery orders and reporting any discrepancies to the warehouse or logistics team.
  • Keep accurate records of delivered orders, including delivery times, customer signatures, and any special instructions.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

  • Ability to safely operate and maneuver delivery vehicles.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
