As a Health Care Assistant at Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Center (CHNP), you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to patients with neuro-psychiatric disorders. Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Supporting patients with mobility and transferring, using proper techniques and equipment
- Assisting with feeding and hydration, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to nursing staff
- Assisting with medication administration under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients, offering reassurance and encouragement
- Assisting with therapeutic activities and social interactions to promote mental stimulation and socialization
- Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, following infection control protocols and safety guidelines
- Documenting patient care activities and observations accurately and promptly
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a health care assistant, nursing assistant, or in a similar role preferred
- Certification or training in healthcare assistance, nursing assistance, or a related field is an asset
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French, German, or other languages spoken in Luxembourg is a plus
