As a Kitchen Assistant at POPINA S.A.R.L., you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team and ensuring the smooth operation of the culinary department. - Experience: 1-2 Basic Requirements
Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and marinating meats
- Operating kitchen equipment, including knives, slicers, food processors, and grills, following safety protocols and guidelines
- Setting up and stocking stations with necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment before and during service
- Assisting with dish plating and presentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in portion sizes and garnishes
- Assisting with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup duties, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of trash and recycling
- Following recipes and preparation methods as instructed by the chef, ensuring adherence to quality and presentation standards
- Maintaining inventory levels and informing supervisors of low stock or equipment issues
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of food items
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Upholding hygiene and safety standards, following sanitation procedures and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a kitchen assistant, dishwasher, or in a similar role preferred
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Luxembourgish, French, or other languages is a plus
