Job Description:
As a Second Cook at DELLI CARPINI Giovanni, you will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary team and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Working under the supervision of the Head Chef, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of a wide range of Italian dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and specifications
- Preparing ingredients, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and measuring spices
- Operating kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, following safety protocols and guidelines
- Monitoring food temperatures and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Assisting with the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in portion sizes and garnishes
- Following kitchen procedures and guidelines for inventory management, including stock rotation and storage
- Assisting with kitchen cleanup and maintenance tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of trash
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Upholding hygiene and safety standards, following sanitation procedures and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine and cooking techniques is an asset
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks as needed
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Italian or other languages is a plus
