Job Description:
As a School Bus Attendant at Caritas Youth & Families, your role is to ensure the safety and well-being of children while they are on the school bus. This position requires excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to manage a group of children during transit. You will work closely with bus drivers, school staff, and parents to provide a secure and comfortable environment for students.

Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and orderly conduct of children on the bus
- Assisting students in boarding and disembarking from the bus, including those with mobility needs
- Monitoring student behavior during the bus ride and intervening when necessary to maintain a safe environment
- Communicating with bus drivers about any issues or concerns during transit
- Providing support to children with special needs or disabilities during the journey
- Ensuring that children are seated and secured with seatbelts (if applicable) throughout the trip
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and reporting any absences or incidents to school staff
- Assisting with emergency evacuation procedures in case of an incident
- Establishing a positive and respectful rapport with children, parents, and school staff
- Following Caritas Youth & Families’ safety protocols and guidelines at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a supervisory or care role is beneficial
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage groups of children and maintain discipline in a calm manner
- Patience and a caring attitude towards children
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in emergencies
- Basic first aid knowledge is a plus
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is beneficial
