Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The Cashier will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout area. Provide assistance and answer any questions they may have about products or store policies.
- Transaction Handling: Accurately process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and debit card payments. Ensure correct change is given and receipts are provided.
- Cash Management: Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift. Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager immediately.
- Sales Recording: Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure proper entry into the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
- Product Knowledge: Stay informed about current promotions, new products, and store events to assist customers effectively. Upsell and cross-sell products when appropriate.
- Checkout Area Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. Ensure that promotional materials and signage are properly displayed.
- Security: Follow all security procedures to prevent theft and ensure the safety of both staff and customers. Report any suspicious activities to the Store Manager.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth store operations. Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and other tasks as needed.
- Customer Feedback: Collect and relay customer feedback to management. Address any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong numerical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
- Personal Attributes: Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
