Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our team. The Primary Teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students in the primary years, fostering their intellectual, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational objectives. Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Student Assessment: Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their progress and achievement.
- Classroom Management: Establish clear expectations and routines for behavior in the classroom. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, respected, and valued.
- Differentiation: Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including those with diverse learning needs and English language learners. Provide support and extension activities as needed.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development. Collaborate with parents to support students’ learning and well-being.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and keep abreast of current trends and best practices in primary education. Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Extracurricular Activities: Participate in and support extracurricular activities, events, and school programs that enrich the learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues within the primary department and across grade levels to share resources, ideas, and best practices. Work collaboratively with support staff and specialists to meet the needs of all students.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. A teaching certification or license is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience in the primary years. Experience in an international school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong classroom management skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.
