Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Handle the check-in and check-out process efficiently, including processing payments and issuing keys.
  • Provide information about hostel services, local attractions, and travel arrangements.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  • Assist with reservations, cancellations, and modifications of bookings.
  • Resolve any guest issues or complaints with patience and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with other hostel staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Manage and update guest records and billing information in the system.
  • Promote hostel activities and events to guests.
  • Follow all safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist, front desk representative, or in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using reservation and management software.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French and/or German is highly desirable.
  • Customer-service oriented with a positive and welcoming attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of the local area and attractions.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and manage a cash register.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a hostel or similar accommodation setting.
  • Multilingual skills.
  • Certification in hospitality management or a related field.
