Position Summary:
Great Alliance Shipping LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Operations Specialist to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our shipping activities, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the daily shipping operations, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation of shipments.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
- Liaise with shipping lines, port authorities, customs agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
- Monitor and optimize shipping routes, schedules, and costs to improve efficiency and reduce delays.
- Handle and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipping operations promptly.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address client inquiries and provide updates on shipment status.
- Implement and oversee safety and security measures to protect cargo during transit.
- Analyze shipping data and prepare reports on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in maritime logistics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping operations or maritime logistics.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using shipping management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, if necessary.
