Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and understand design plans and specifications to accurately fabricate furniture components.
- Select and prepare high-quality wood materials for construction, ensuring proper sizing, shaping, and finishing.
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools, including saws, planers, routers, and sanders, with precision and safety.
- Cut, shape, and join wood pieces to assemble furniture frames, panels, and other components according to design requirements.
- Install hardware, fittings, and decorative elements to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of furniture pieces.
- Apply stains, finishes, and protective coatings to wood surfaces, ensuring a flawless and durable finish.
- Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to resolve any issues or modifications during the fabrication process.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, adhering to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Continuously seek opportunities for skills development and improvement to enhance craftsmanship and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter or woodworking specialist, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting design plans and specifications.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project requirements.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and objects.
