Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaners to join our team at Hill Laboratories in various locations across New Zealand. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our laboratories and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize laboratory areas, including benches, equipment, and floors, according to established protocols.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Ensure that bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Follow specific cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Manage and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any issues or shortages to the supervisor.
- Handle hazardous waste and biohazards in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure minimal disruption to scientific activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role, particularly in a laboratory or industrial setting, is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
