Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Language Teacher to join our dedicated team. The English Language Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons that enhance students’ language proficiency, critical thinking, and literary appreciation. Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards. Incorporate a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Instruction: Teach English language and literature to students at various grade levels. Focus on developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress. Provide constructive feedback and implement strategies to support student improvement.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a disciplined and engaging classroom environment. Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Student Support: Offer additional support to students through one-on-one sessions, tutoring, and extracurricular activities. Encourage a love for reading and learning.
- Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the English language curriculum. Attend staff meetings and contribute to school initiatives and events.
- Parental Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding student progress and any concerns. Foster a strong partnership between home and school.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Certification: Teaching certification or relevant credentials.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching English language and literature. Experience in an international school setting is an advantage.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Personal Attributes: Passionate about teaching and literature. Patient, adaptable, and able to inspire and motivate students. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
