Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring adequate hydration.
- Administer medications and monitor clients’ health conditions, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments, social activities, and errands.
- Document care provided and update client records accurately and promptly.
- Follow care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals to meet each client’s specific needs.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home, and Community) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic and compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and trustworthy, with strong organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.
