Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers with their inquiries, providing a friendly and helpful shopping experience.
  • Offer knowledgeable advice about products and services, helping customers find what they need.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues professionally, escalating to the Store Manager when necessary.

Checkout Operations:

  • Operate cash registers efficiently, processing transactions accurately and swiftly.
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and vouchers with care.
  • Ensure a speedy and pleasant checkout experience, reducing wait times for customers.

Merchandising and Stock Management:

  • Replenish stock on shelves, ensuring products are displayed neatly and correctly.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the stockroom.

Store Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy store environment, including aisles, checkout areas, and common areas.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.
  • Assist with setting up promotional displays and seasonal decorations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store targets and objectives.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and product knowledge.
  • Support other departments as needed, including assisting with deliveries and stockroom tasks.

Sales and Promotions:

  • Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and new products to customers.
  • Assist with in-store events and activities designed to enhance the customer experience.
  • Provide feedback to management on customer preferences and suggestions for improving service.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
