Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Softje. The Cashier will be responsible for processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently while providing outstanding service to our customers. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases. Provide product information, answer inquiries, and offer recommendations as needed.
  • Cash Handling: Process sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash registers, or electronic scanners. Ensure accuracy in collecting payments, issuing receipts, and processing refunds or exchanges.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor merchandise levels and alert supervisors when inventory is low. Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining a tidy and organized store environment.
  • Sales Support: Promote current sales, promotions, and discounts to customers. Upsell additional products and accessories to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve customer complaints or issues calmly and effectively. Escalate complex concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager as needed.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, returns, and exchanges. Follow all safety and security guidelines to protect company assets and minimize loss.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store targets and goals. Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift. Prepare reports detailing sales activities, customer feedback, and inventory levels.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Skills:

  • Strong numerical ability and proficiency in basic math skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions
  • Familiarity with POS systems and electronic payment methods is an advantage
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
