Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Softje. The Cashier will be responsible for processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently while providing outstanding service to our customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases. Provide product information, answer inquiries, and offer recommendations as needed.
- Cash Handling: Process sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash registers, or electronic scanners. Ensure accuracy in collecting payments, issuing receipts, and processing refunds or exchanges.
- Inventory Management: Monitor merchandise levels and alert supervisors when inventory is low. Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining a tidy and organized store environment.
- Sales Support: Promote current sales, promotions, and discounts to customers. Upsell additional products and accessories to enhance the shopping experience.
- Problem Resolution: Resolve customer complaints or issues calmly and effectively. Escalate complex concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, returns, and exchanges. Follow all safety and security guidelines to protect company assets and minimize loss.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store targets and goals. Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift. Prepare reports detailing sales activities, customer feedback, and inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience as a cashier or in retail sales is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Skills:
- Strong numerical ability and proficiency in basic math skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling cash transactions
- Familiarity with POS systems and electronic payment methods is an advantage
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
